On October 2, City Manager T.C. Broadnax presented staff recommendations for the 2013-2014 Proposed Biennial Budget during the City Council Study Session. As part of the budget development process, the City will hold a second round of community budget input meetings October 22 - November 5 in each of Tacoma's five Council districts.
"We were very impressed with the level of feedback we received during the first round of community budget input meetings, and made a commitment to go back out into the community to answer any questions that people may have about this proposed budget," said Broadnax. "Community input has been crucial in helping City staff identify and develop recommendations for this proposed budget."
An integral part of the City's current budget development strategy, these community budget input meetings are designed to engage residents and community stakeholders, and give them an opportunity to learn more about the service and program changes for the next biennium.
