A joint City Council/Board of Park Commissioners study session is scheduled for April 10. During the joint session, the Metro Parks Transition Plan Policy Team, which consists of representatives from both the City and Metro Parks Tacoma, will provide an update on the Transition Plan which involves transitioning City property to Metro Parks to centralize all park facilities, operations and maintenance with Metro Parks as the provider. After the joint session, members of City Council are scheduled to discuss “Other Items of Interest.”
The Council will not take public comment during the noon study session in the Tacoma Municipal Building North, 733 Market St., Room 16. Audio from the session will be broadcast live on TV Tacoma and on www.tvtacoma.com. On-demand audio archives are available on the web within 24 hours of the meeting at www.tvtacoma.com.

On April 10, City Council is scheduled to consider a resolution that would designate the Swedish Mission Tabernacle at 901 S. 10th St. as a city landmark and place the property on the Tacoma Register of Historic Places. It has been determined by the Landmarks Preservation Commission that the Swedish Mission Tabernacle structure has historical, cultural, architectural, archaeological engineering, and/or geographic importance.
