City of Tacoma Offers Resources for Utility Bills

To assist community members in need of assistance with paying their utility bills when finances are limited, the City of Tacoma offers a variety of payment options, services and programs to help. The City also offers free online resources that provide tools and tips for lowering ones utility bills.

"Community members have voiced concerns about their ability to manage their bills, especially in light of the ongoing partial federal government shutdown," said District 4 Council Member Catherine Ushka. "Whether you are facing a short-term financial strain or are on a limited income, the City of Tacoma offers various ways to help you manage your utility account. We want you to know we hear you, we understand what you're going through, and we would like to try and help."

Community members in need of assistance may call (253) 502-8600, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8 AM and 5:30 PM to make payment arrangements. After hours, customers may call the 24-hour automated customer service line at (253) 502-8608, visit MyTPU.org/Assistance, which is also referenced on cityoftacoma.org, or stop by the Tacoma Public Utilities Customer Solutions Office at 3628 S. 35th St. in Tacoma during their walk-in office hours of 10 AM to 3 PM, Monday through Friday.
