Postponed Open Houses for the Annual Amendments

2019 Annual Amendments Open Houses on Feb. 11 and Feb. 13 are Postponed

 

Due to forecasted inclement weather, open houses for the 2019 Annual Amendments on Monday, February 11, and Wednesday, February 13, have been postponed. New dates will be announced at a later time. Currently, the open houses on February 21, 25 and 27 are still taking place.

 

Throughout February, the City of Tacoma’s Planning staff is conducting open houses in support of the 2019 Amendments to the One Tacoma: Comprehensive Plan and Land Use regulations. A primary focus of these discussions will be the Future Land Use Implementation project and potential area-wide rezones.

 

These open houses are an opportunity for community members to learn about the changes that are proposed, about how the review process works and how to get involved. Participants can also help staff identify issues to consider during the review process. An open house is scheduled for each Council District:

 

Council District 2 Open House

POSTPONED: Monday, February 11, from 6 - 8 PM

Stadium High School (111 N. E St.)

Kicking things off will be Council Member Robert Thoms. This meeting will focus on the following areas: Norpoint Way Northeast, and Stadium.

Council District 3 Open House

POSTPONED: Wednesday, February 13, from 6 - 8 PM

Asia Pacific Cultural Center (4851 S. Tacoma Way)

Kicking things off will be Council Member Keith Blocker. This meeting will focus on the following areas: 6th Avenue, and South 12th Street.

Council District 5 Open House

Thursday, February 21, from 6 - 8 PM

Boys & Girls Club at the STAR Center (3875 S. 66th St., #101)

Kicking things off will be Council Member Chris Beale. This meeting will focus on the following areas: South 56th Street and South M Street, Mt. Tahoma, and Wapato Lake/South Alaska Street.

Council District 1 Open House

Monday, February 25, from 6 - 8 PM

Geiger Elementary School (7401 S. 8th St.)

Kicking things off will be Council Member Anders Ibsen. This meeting will focus on the following areas: Point Defiance Business District, Narrows, North 34th Street and North Proctor Street, and 6th Avenue.

Council District 4 Open House

Wednesday, February 27, from 6 - 8 PM

Stewart Middle School (5010 Pacific Ave.)  

Kicking things off will be Council Member Catherine Ushka. The meeting will focus on the following areas: South 35th Street and South Wright Avenue, South 56th Street and South M Street, South End "Overlooks," and East Portland Avenue.
