Tacoma Arts Commission Launches Creative Communications Roster
--Deadline Extended to Aug. 12--

The Tacoma Arts Commission is accepting applications from designers, illustrators, branding professionals, videographers and photographers for inclusion in a Creative Communications Roster for commercial design and media services. The application deadline has been extended to 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 12, 2019.

There are several upcoming opportunities available with Tacoma Creates, and the roster will be used on an ongoing basis by the City, Tacoma Creates, neighborhood and business districts, community groups, partners and the public to find independent creatives and small firms for direct-hire opportunities. This opportunity supports the strategy to “grow and sustain the creative economy,” which is identified in Artfull Tacoma, the City’s art plan.

“We are aware of the tremendous talent available in our creative community to help us and others document and tell our stories” said Tacoma Arts Administrator Amy McBride. “We also notice increasing demand for these services within the City and with our partners, both public and private, in the community. This roster will help align the talent with the need and helps to develop an important aspect of the creative economy.”

The Creative Communications Roster is meant for commercial, client-based work, rather than original artistic creations, and includes: print design, digital design, illustration, branding, and photography. In addition, applicants will be able to indicate skill in project management and community engagement. Eligibility is open to individual creatives and teams of up to five members residing in Tacoma.
