Celebrate Cultural Landscapes for Historic Preservation Month

Each May, the National Trust for Historic Preservation encourages local communities to celebrate National Historic Preservation Month. The City of Tacoma is excited to announce this year’s Historic Preservation Month theme ̶ “Cultural Landscapes,” which celebrates the significance of Tacoma’s open spaces and natural environment to our past, present and future.

“It’s important to appreciate the impact our natural resources have on the people, environment and heritage that has shaped the City of Tacoma,“ said Assistant Historic Preservation Officer Lauren Hoogkamer. “This year, we will experience Tacoma’s historic cultural landscapes, open spaces and natural resources through a series of innovative virtual experiences.”
