City Council Appoints Inaugural Tacoma Creates Advisory Board

TACOMA, Wash. -- Twelve Tacoma residents were appointed to the inaugural Tacoma Creates Advisory Board by Tacoma City Council. The primary responsibility of the board is to help Tacoma Creates staff ensure compliance to program and accountability standards. The board also advises the Office of Arts & Cultural Vitality to guide program development and approve funding recommendations for the benefit of all residents of Tacoma.

Eleven individuals were recommended by the Economic Development Committee after conducting interviews with applicants, and the Youth position was selected by the Mayor’s Youth Commission.

“There was an extraordinary response from experienced community members interested in serving on the board this inaugural year,” said Tacoma Creates Program Manager Lisa Jaret. “The varied perspectives and backgrounds of these individuals from throughout Tacoma provides Tacoma Creates a strong foundation to fulfill its vision to enrich the community.”

The following appointees make up the Tacoma Creates Advisory Board:
