City of Destiny Awards Nominations Accepted Now Through February 8

Nominations for the City of Tacoma’s 2021 City of Destiny Awards, which has been honoring local volunteers for the past 35 years, are due Monday, February 8, 2021.

“We are so grateful to these wonderful volunteers and professionals who offer their time to help make a difference in Tacoma each year,” said City Events and Recognitions Committee (CERC) Co-Chair Chris McNabb. “Seeing the winners accept their awards from our City Officials is really moving and inspirational.”

The CERC spends months planning and producing the event. The Committee is comprised of the volunteers who read, sort, rank, and ultimately select the winners to receive honors and awards presented at the annual ceremony.

Since the beginning, more than 200 individuals and groups have received recognition for their outstanding contributions to life in Tacoma. Continued program enhancements made by the CERC have allowed for more volunteers who give willingly of their time and talents to be eligible for a nomination.

Nominations for the City of Destiny Awards must be received no later than 11:59 PM on Monday, February 8, 2021, to be considered by the selection panel. Nominations can be filled out online. Questions or requests for hard copy nomination forms can be directed to CityofDestiny@cityoftacoma.org or call (253) 573-2523.
