Asian and Pacific Islander-Owned Business Empowerment Panel Discussion on June 9

--Brief Update on Services Offered by Asia Pacific Cultural Center and Communities Rise to Follow Panel Discussion--

TACOMA, Wash. -- In celebration of Tacoma's Asian and Pacific Islander business community, the City of Tacoma's Community & Economic Development Department and Minority Business Development Agency are hosting an Asian and Pacific Islander-Owned Business Empowerment Panel Discussion on June 9, from 10 a.m. to noon. During this virtual event, prominent local Asian and Pacific Islander entrepreneurs will discuss the steps they took to achieve business success in Tacoma, as well as the resources and funding available for small and micro-businesses through the City of Tacoma and the Minority Business Development Agency. While this event is free to attend and open to all, pre-registration at aapibizempowerment.eventbrite.com is required.

"As we continue to recover, we want to demonstrate our ongoing support for our local small and micro-businesses," said Mayor Victoria Woodards. "Tacoma is home to some amazing Asian and Pacific Islander-owned businesses who, like everyone else, are trying to get through the current public health and economic crisis. We must continue to look out for one another. Because together, we will get through this.”

The panel discussion on June 9 will be followed by a brief update and Q&A session regarding the services offered by Asia Pacific Cultural Center and Communities Rise.

Additional details about the resources available to businesses of all types are posted at makeittacoma.com.
