Project Description
This partnership project includes roadway and pedestrian improvements to the Orchard Street/Lakewood Drive, a major arterial providing vital motility to Tacoma, University Place and Lakewood, between South 56th Street and South 74th Street.
There is an intent for a phased approach for the remainder of design and identification of right-of-way needs for this project. The partner agencies plan on submitting a future joint grant application(s) for federal or state funding for phased improvements to this corridor. A portion of the project is currently owned by Pierce County and planned for annexation by Tacoma. Additional information about the planned annexation is available at www.cityoftacoma.org/Manitou.
