State of the City Address

Mayor Woodards to Host the 2019 State of the City Address on March 6

Mayor Victoria Woodards will host Tacoma's 2019 State of the City Address on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. During the free community event, Mayor Woodards will speak on the theme “Our Destiny in Motion”. Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce Board Chair-Elect Clemencia Castro-Woolery will serve as the master of ceremonies. The event will open with dancers from the Tacoma Urban Performing Arts Center (TUPAC). Ceremonial drumming by the Puyallup Tribe of Indians and a performance by the Tacoma Refugee Choir will also take place during the event.

Ample free parking is available in the University of Puget Sound’s Thompson Hall parking lot, located on the east side of N. 14th Street and Union Avenue, or along the east side of Union Avenue.

Community members who are interested in attending this free, public event needed to register in advance via Eventbrite. Due to space limitations, seats were available on a first-come, first-served basis and have now been filled. Those interested in attending can join the waitlist.
