Meal Site Information

Beacon and Lighthouse Activity Centers serve as meal sites for people age 60 and older. Lunch is served Monday through Friday at noon. The menu offers a nutritious meal that provides 1/3 RDA (Recommended Dietary Allowance) for seniors. Reservations are recommended but not required. The food is provided by Catholic Community Services through a grant from the Older Americans Act.

The Older Americans Act sets the policy on cost of meals, eligibility, and menu guidelines. Accordingly, meals at both centers are provided for a suggested donation of $3 to eligible seniors. Eligible seniors (age 60 and older) are encouraged to pay what they can up to the $3 per day. Ability to pay may vary from day to day or week to week. No eligible senior will be denied a meal due to inability to pay.
