• Departments and Funds are held accountable to stay within their biennial budgets, not their monthly budget amounts. Some monthly variances are to be expected over the course of a biennium (e.g. due to seasonality of when expenses occur).
• Variance explanations refer to a point-in-time snapshot of the City’s finances. Due to the timing of various financial adjustments, some variance explanations for past months may be out of date.
