❤️💜💙💚💛New crosswalk, who dis?
It’s Pride Month in #Tacoma, perfect timing for our new Pride-themed crosswalk to make its debut! This new celebratory crosswalk, located between 9th and 11th Streets on Broadway in Downtown Tacoma, was proposed by Council Member Olgy Diaz and ...approved by a majority of City Council in Fall 2024. It was funded by Council contingency funds that support one-time projects in our community.
🏳️🌈We also raised the Pride Flag over the iconic Tacoma Dome and other City buildings to serve as a beacon of our commitment to a Tacoma where everyone can be their authentic selves.
❤️🤍💙 Tomorrow is the Fourth of July! Get the details on Summer Blast, including where to see the fireworks show, parking, and road closures below. ⬇️

🥳Last week, we were able to celebrate with the 79 businesses and organizations in our community who were awarded funding through the Community Reinvestment Project. After reviewing applications in the Spring, we awarded $3.185 million in accessible loans and $1 million in grants that will ...provide vital capital to communities that have been historically marginalized and excluded from economic advancement. These funds were awarded to Tacoma by the Washington State Department of Commerce.
