Fireworks Safety and Summer Blast on July 4

Please remember that personal fireworks are prohibited in Tacoma, and finable up to $513. You can report violations at fireworksreport.com or by calling (253) 287-4455. 9-1-1 is for emergencies only, like a fire or severe injury. To view a free 4th of July fireworks show, join us at Summer Blast! Summer Blast is a family-friendly day of live music, food, entertainment, and craft vendors along Ruston Way and Dune Peninsula. The event begins at noon and ends with a grand finale fireworks display over Commencement Bay around 10 p.m.

Pride Month 2025 in Tacoma

While many communities celebrate Pride Month in June, we celebrate in July. There are many events taking place in Tacoma such as the Annual Pride Awards (July 11, 4:30 p.m. at Pantages Theater), Tacoma Pride Festival (July 12, 12–6 p.m. at Wright Park), and Earth Gay Tacoma (July 26, 10 a.m.–2 p.m. at Swan Creek Park).

Tacoma Reads is our annual literary program partnership with the Mayor's Office and the Tacoma Public Library. Author Valarie Kaur will be in Tacoma in October to discuss the selected books for Tacoma Reads. More information will be posted on the library's website when it becomes available.
