  • Attended Body Worn Camera Forum September 12-13 and obtained valuable information on lessons learned along with implementation plan outline. 
  • Obtained numerous contacts from law enforcement agencies across the country who have implemented Body Worn Camera programs to obtain lessons learned.
January 2017
  • Attended the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Expo
  • Attended the SHOT Expo (Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Trade) for product evaluation
  • Working group was divided into two categories to maximize their effectiveness-Technology and Policy
April 2017 Sent three officers to Force Science Training that focused on body worn camera technology and use of force
May 2017 Three officers went to Spokane Police Department to review their body worn camera program
July 2017 Working committee is in the process of developing policies and procedures

 

2.1.3-Engage the Citizen Police Advisory Committee (CPAC) to provide input regarding any potential body worn camera program

2.1.4-Engage the community and police labor unions directly on the use of body cameras, specifically inquiring about their concerns, regarding the use of the cameras and what, if any, situations they would not want body cameras used
