Reviewing these forecasted opportunities can help firms prepare to form joint ventures and initiate contact with prime contractors and/or other subcontractors.
Public Works Training Requirement
All bidders are required to complete training on prevailing wage and public works before bidding and/or performing work on public works projects. They must have completed the training or be exempt if they have completed three or more public works contracts and have had a valid business license in Washington for three or more years. The bidder must designate a person(s) to be trained on these requirements. See the Department of Labor and Industries website for further training information. Beginning July 1, 2019, this requirement will be added to the Bidder Responsibility criteria and failure to meet this required criteria could result in a determination of "not responsible" and the bidder not being awarded a public works contract. See RCW 39.04.359 and RCW 39.12.
