Ad Campaign to Educate on Tacoma's New 13 Miles of Bikeways

You have probably noticed new paint on the roadways. These fresh bike lanes and sharrows tell people where they should be travelling and help keep us all safe. Keep an eye out for the City's latest safety campaign, "This Lane is Your Lane", in conjunction with these new bicycle improvements.

Celebration of 13.1 Miles of Bikeways and Pedestrian Improvements

Celebrating 13.1 MilesOn September 4, 2014, City of Tacoma and community members met at Wright Park to celebrate the opening of 13 miles of bikeways and pedestrian improvements. The ribbon-cutting event included an address by Mayor Strickland and bike rides and walking tours along the newly improved corridors. These improvements "span from South 96th Street and Park Avenue South, through downtown along Fawcett Avenue to North 26th and Stevens streets" and involved pedestrian ramps and islands, bike lanes and sharrows, and improved intersection crossings.
