Curbside Community Cleanups 2020

Call2Haul Curbside

The 2020 Community Cleanup Program Has Gone Curbside

Due to COVID-19 restrictions and health considerations, the 2020 Community Cleanup program has been modified to serve Tacoma customers with curbside pickup, rather than at a central location (as in years past). Residents can dispose of unusable household items on their neighborhood's designated date, at no charge.

Single-family homes and duplexes can participate on their neighborhood's designated Cleanup date below. Community Cleanups are not available for multifamily or commercial customers. For additional questions, call Solid Waste Management at (253) 502-2100.

Waste Free 253: The Community Cleanup program is intended only for items that are no longer usable. If you have items in good working condition, we encourage you to find a donation facility or organization that is safely accepting items for drop-off. Or, save your items for donation at a later date. To find information on donation organizations near you, visit cityoftacoma.org/wastefree253.

Set Out Guidelines

Our collection crews need to be able to safely and easily access your items for curbside pickup. Please follow the set out guidelines detailed below to make your Community Cleanup run smoothly!

  • Place all items on your curbside no later than 8 AM on your neighborhood's scheduled Cleanup date, but no earlier than the evening before. Do not set out items too early. Otherwise, your items may be rummaged through, or items may be added - resulting in your items not being picked up. This also keeps your items from being an eyesore in your neighborhood.
  • Call ahead for large item pickup. We will accept your large items (appliances, furniture, etc.), but we need a heads up! Please call (253) 502-2100 in advance of your Community Cleanup date so that our crews can arrange to bring the correct equipment.
  • Make sure your items are accessible. Place items a minimum of four (4) feet from any obstructions such as vehicles, poles, fences, and buildings. Do not block access to the items with parked vehicles or other objects.
  • Items must be less than six (6) feet in length. Our trucks and equipment can only collect items if they are less than six feet in length.
  • Help keep our essential workers safe. Please remove all batteries, gasoline, oils, and other hazardous waste before collection. All items should be in a sealed bag or box, to protect the health and safety of our collection team.
