State of the City Address

Mayor Woodards to Host the 2020 State of the City Address on March 4

Mayor Victoria Woodards will host Tacoma's 2020 State of the City Address on Wednesday, March 4, 2020. During the free community event, Mayor Woodards will speak on the theme “Our Future in Focus”.  

 

Free to Attend but Advanced Registration is Required

Community members who are interested in attending this free, public event must register in advance via Eventbrite. Due to space limitations, seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Those interested in attending the State of the City Address are encouraged to register by Friday, February 21, 2020 at 3 PM. Past Chair of the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce Kevin B. Dull and Chair of the Mayor's Youth Commission of Tacoma Rosemary Sissel will serve as co-masters of ceremonies. The event will open with music from the Choir from the Congregational Christian Church of American Samoa – Fort Lewis, Washington pastored by Reverand Suipi Vaielue and the Girl Scouts of Western Washington Color Guard. A song will be offered by the Puyallup Tribal Language Program, and the poetry of Christian Paige will be featured during the event. Free parking will be available at the venue.

The event will be recorded by TV Tacoma and can be viewed online and will be replayed on TV Tacoma, which is carried on both the Click! and Comcast Cable systems.
