Crews Continue to Work on Marine View Drive Landslide
TACOMA, Wash. – Due to a landslide, Marine View Drive remains closed to northbound traffic at East 11th Street and Marine View Drive and southbound traffic at Slayden Road NE and Marine View Drive.
Crews began working on the issue at 7:30 AM today and Marine View Drive will reopen once work is complete. However, there is no estimated timeline at this time.
Before crews can begin clearing the road, the fallen trees must be removed. Furthermore, trees at the top of the slope remain unstable, as does the slope itself, presenting ongoing safety hazards.
Detour routes have been implemented to redirect traffic. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
