‘For’ and ‘Against’ Committee Members Needed to 
Prepare Statements Related to Tacoma City Charter Amendments

The City Clerk’s Office is seeking volunteers to serve on the committees listed below to prepare statements related to amendments to the Tacoma City Charter. These statements will appear in the Voters’ Pamphlet for the general election on Nov. 4, 2014.

• “Against” Resolution No. 38950 – Amendment No. 3 related to anti discrimination provisions
• “For” Resolution No. 38951 – Amendment No. 4 related to the effective date of emergency ordinances
• “For” Amended Resolution No. 38952 – Amendment No. 5 related to City Council authority to confirm appointment of department heads
• “For” Resolution No. 38953 – Amendment No. 6 related to City Council confirmation of the Director of Utilities
• “For” Amended Resolution No. 38955 – Amendment No. 8 related to term limits for Mayor and Council
• “For” Amended Resolution No. 38956 – Amendment No. 9 related to a Citizen Commission on Elected Salaries
• “For” and “Against” Resolution No. 38958 – Amendment No. 11 related to City employee participation in conservation, environmental, and other programs

Interested individuals should submit a letter of interest indicating on which committee(s) they would like to serve.  Letters must be received at the City Clerk’s Office at 733 Market Street, Room 11, Tacoma, WA  98402, or charterreview@cityoftacoma.org, by 5 p.m., Monday, July 21, 2014.
