Lane Closures for Repairs on Pioneer Way
Beginning the week of Jan. 25, the City
of Tacoma is scheduling repairs to the traffic safety barrier located at 2502
Pioneer Way E. in Tacoma, just south of the intersection of River Road East.
These repairs are expected to be completed by the end of February 2016. The
curb lane at this location has been closed due to a vehicle crash since early
September 2015.
The first phase of construction will
consist of retaining wall replacement and is expected to take one to two weeks.
During this timeframe, one northbound and one southbound lane will remain open.
The next phase of the project will consist of road construction and is expected
to take three to four weeks. During this phase, one lane will remain open and
be controlled by a flagger. Once construction is complete, three lanes (two
northbound and one southbound) will again be open to traffic. View the traffic control map for more details.

Project Manager Said Seddiki at sseddiki@cityoftacoma.org or at (253) 591-5204.
