Current Status (as of October 2023)
On October 24, 2022, the TODAG conducted its last meeting of the year and developed its recommendations to the City Manager concerning whether the group should continue to operate in 2023 and beyond. The recommendations are outlined in the Issue Paper of "Reshaping and Rescoping the TODAG".
In December 2022, the City Manager reviewed TODAG’s Issue Paper and input from the Transportation Commission and Planning Commission, and provided a recommendation to the City Council.
After careful consideration of the TODAG Issue Paper and the City Manager's recommendation, the Tacoma City Council passed Resolution No. 41195 on May 9, 2023, sunsetting the TODAG and initiating the TOD Task Force.
The purpose of the TOD Task Force is to foster collaboration between the Planning Commission and Transportation Commission to address the interrelated issues of transit planning and land use planning within the city. The TOD Task Force aims to improve coordination and streamline review and input regarding citywide policy level issues around transit-oriented development. As such, it operates as a Joint Subcommittee of the two Commissions.

Background: Establishment and Extension
The City Council created the citizen-based advisory group TODAG through the passage of Resolution No. 40303 on April 16, 2019, to help inform the design and development of significant transit projects throughout the City including the Dome District, one of the region’s most transit-rich areas.
The TODAG was assigned to review and make appropriate recommendations on three major projects: Sound Transit's Tacoma Dome Link Extension (TDLE), Pierce Transit's Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), and the City's Puyallup Avenue Transit/Complete Streets Improvement Project.
On December 14, 2021, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 40889, authorizing the TODAG to continue to operate through December 31, 2022.

TODAG members are volunteers, serving without compensations. Membership includes representatives from:
