Surplus Property Disposal Methods

 

Donations

Surplus items are available for donation to the specified group(s) in the table above.  Items are donated on a first come - first served basis to eligible group(s). All property is donated as-is where-is and recipients will be required to sign a hold-harmless release. All items have been used unless otherwise specified.

See the description for more information on the items including contact information. To submit a request to receive an item, click on the donation item number in the table above. Surplus items will only be donated to eligible groups as marked "Now" in the table above.

Available only to non-profit agencies that serve or benefit the public.

Best Offer

Surplus items estimated to be worth $25,000 or less are available for purchase. Offers will be accepted through the date specified above and may be awarded to the submitter of the best offer. The City of Tacoma reserves the right to reject any or all offers. The deadline date may be extended at the sole discretion of the City. All property is sold as-is where-is and recipient will be required to sign a hold-harmless release. Payment must be made within ten calendar days of award notice.  Items will not be available for pick-up until after payment and hold-harmless release are received. Informal Bids

Surplus items estimated to be worth $200,000 or less are available for purchase. Click on the item description to download the bid specification. Bid submittals on approved City forms will be accepted through the date specified above and awarded to the best responsible bidder. The City of Tacoma reserves the right to reject any or all bids. All personal property is sold as-is where-is and recipient will be required to sign a hold-harmless release. Surplus real property, however, may have other special conditions. 
 

Sealed Bids

Surplus items estimated to be worth over $200,000 are available for purchase. Click on the item description for more information about the item, including the closing date and where to get specifications. Sealed bid submittals on approved City forms will be accepted through the date specified above and awarded to the best responsible bidder.  The City of Tacoma reserves the right to reject any or all bids.  All personal property is sold as-is where-is and recipient will be required to sign a hold-harmless release. Surplus real property, however, may have other special conditions. 

 

Bid Openings

Submittals must be received by the City’s Procurement and Payables Division prior to 11:00 AM Pacific Time. Sealed submittals in response to a RFB will be opened Tuesdays at 11:15 AM by a purchasing representative and read aloud during a public bid opening held at the Tacoma Public Utilities Administrative Building North, 3628 S. 35th Street, Tacoma, WA 98409, conference room M-1, located on the main floor. They will also be held virtually Tuesdays at 11:15 AM If no bids are scheduled to open, public bid opening will not be held.

Registration

You must register at this website as a bid holder for each sealed bid or informal bid solicitation of interest to receive notification from the City regarding amendments or other updates to the original bid solicitation documents. All registration information submitted must be accurate, complete, and current. If you fail to register and/or provide required information, you will not be notified of or receive future addenda or other updates to the official Bid/RFP document as issued by the City. In the absence of valid registration, the City shall not, under any circumstances, be responsible or liable for guaranteeing that such addenda and/or updates will be made available to you by other means. You are directed to periodically visit the City's website to obtain current information.
This is not a vendor registration list. The purpose of registering is to identify those interested in a particular solicitation as a bid holder. Once the solicitation is completed, the list is not maintained and will not be used for notification of future opportunities.
