Office of Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises Certification Workshops June 12 and 27

 

TACOMA, Wash. -- As part of its ongoing work to address government contracting disparities for historically underutilized businesses owned by minorities, women, and socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, the City of Tacoma’s Equity in Contracting (EIC) team is partnering with the Washington State Office of Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises (OMWBE) staff to host two workshops on resources available through OMWBE.

 

June 12, 1 - 2:30 PM
Virtual 101 Workshop

This workshop provides a foundational understanding of the process.

 

June 27, 10 AM – Noon
In-Person 201 Workshop

Tacoma Municipal Building
747 Market St., Room 248

At this workshop, members of the OMWBE team will be available to assist with the certification process. Participants are encouraged to bring their personal laptops or tablets.

 

After completing the two workshops, participants will have access to one-on-one support and ongoing follow-up as well as a thorough understanding of: 

  • The City’s EIC Program 
  • The OMWBE certification process 
  • Documentation required by the OMWBE 
  • How to successfully complete an application for OMWBE certification 

There will also be an opportunity for Q&A with staff at the City and OMWBE at the end of each workshop.
