Port of Tacoma Road Update - September 23 to October 2

Port of Tacoma Road Update - September 23 to October 2

Stay safe through construction zone

Safety is our top priority. The contractor, City, Tacoma Rail and Port continue to work with emergency responders to make sure they have access through the construction zone.

Remember, the speed limit through the construction zone is 30 MPH. Obey all traffic laws, watch for traffic revisions and use extra caution when driving through the port industrial area.

Driveway construction continues, electrical work begins

The construction of new driveways at Concrete Technology Corporation (CTC) is expected to be completed next week. The driveways are being built in segments to maintain access to the facility.

Electrical crews have started placing conduit near CTC.  Foundations for new traffic signals will be constructed at Lincoln and Marshall Avenues and the Washington United Terminal gate over the next two weeks. Watch for traffic revisions as the work progresses.

Final railroad crossing replacement planned for October 2 - 4

Contractor crews are completing paving work to connect the new rail crossings installed south of Lincoln Avenue with the concrete roadway. This work is expected to be finished October 2.

The replacement of the final railroad crossing has been postponed until the first weekend of October. Port of Tacoma Road will be closed from Marshall Avenue to Lincoln Avenue from 6 PM October 2 to 5 AM October 5. The rail crossing location is shown in red below. Local and pedestrian access will be provided.
