Statement From Mayor Victoria Woodards on TOTE Maritime Alaska's Plan to
Move Headquarters to Downtown Tacoma in Spring 2020

“I am pleased to welcome TOTE Maritime’s corporate headquarters and the approximately 150 family wage jobs it will bring to Downtown Tacoma. I applaud the new ownership group for investing in and adapting this important property into a multi-tenanted space,” said Tacoma Mayor Victoria Woodards. “The City of Tacoma’s ongoing priority is to seek investments that match the strong market for office space that currently exists in Tacoma, and this includes helping businesses who have chosen to locate themselves in Tacoma grow and thrive. With more than $1.5 billion currently being invested in development projects in Downtown Tacoma and surrounding areas, expansion is ongoing for Tacoma’s multi-family residential, commercial and industrial markets as our city continues to attract local, regional, national and international capital.”
