District 4 Proposition 1 Facts and Information Session Oct. 9
Community members in Tacoma’s eastside and south end will soon have another opportunity to
learn more about the City’s Proposition 1 ballot measure that would levy an additional 2 percent gross earnings tax on power, natural gas and telephone companies. Hosted by Deputy Mayor and
District 4 Council Member Marty Campbell, the Facts and Information Session will include a presentation from City Manager T.C. Broadnax on how these funds would be used solely for the purpose of street improvements, including safety upgrades and pothole repair.
“So far, the Facts and Information Sessions have provided a great opportunity for residents to learn more about the City’s overall budget, and the need for sustainable funding for street repairs,” said Campbell. “I have heard some great questions come up at these meetings, and I hope to see that trend continue at the next gathering because our staff has done an outstanding job of providing the answers.”
The Facts and Information Session is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at the Moore Library, located at 215 S. 56th St. in Tacoma.
