City of Tacoma Observes Memorial Day on May 27

 

Administrative offices in the Tacoma Municipal Building complex (747 Market St. and 733 Market St.) and in other City of Tacoma facilities will close on Monday, May 27, in observance of Memorial Day.

The Tacoma Recovery & Transfer Center (3510 S. Mullen St.) will open as normally scheduled on Monday, May 27, from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m., and garbage, recycling and yard/food waste pick-ups will not be affected.

Police and fire personnel will also be on duty on Monday, May 27. Animal control personnel will be on duty from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.   

Following is a list of other closures and service adjustments relating to the upcoming holiday:

  • All of the Tacoma Public Library's branches will close on Saturday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day. 
  • The Tacoma Municipal Court (930 Tacoma Ave. S) will close on Monday, May 27.     
  • There will be no parking enforcement by City staff on Monday, May 27.
