City of Tacoma Observes Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday on January 16

City of Tacoma Observes Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday on January 16


Administrative offices at the City of Tacoma will close on Monday, January 16 in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday. All emergency services will operate as normal.

The Tacoma Recovery and Transfer Center (3510 S. Mullen St.), including the Recycle Center and Household Hazardous Waste Facility, will be open as normally scheduled on Monday, January 16 from 8 AM – 5:30 PM and customer garbage, recycling, and food/yard waste collection will not be affected.

 

All Tacoma Public Library locations will be closed on Saturday, January 14.

 

There will be no parking enforcement by City staff on Monday, January 16.

 

The City of Tacoma’s signature event, the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration, will take place at 11 AM, with doors opening at 10 AM for a Community Outreach Fair in the Greater Tacoma Convention Center (1500 Commerce St.).
