Human Rights Commission study sessions begin at 5:30 PM, with meetings at 6:30 PM, on the third Thursday each month. The Human Rights Commission was created by the City Council to study and investigate problems of prejudice, bigotry, and discrimination and to engage and coordinate the implementation of programs consistent with the needs and the rights of all residents of the City. The Commission studies, investigates, and mediates community issues that may result from discrimination based on race, religion, color, national origin or ancestry, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, marital status, familial status, honorably discharged veteran or military status, or disability.
