Grant-Funded Job Training

The City of Tacoma Local Employment and Apprenticeship Training Program (LEAP) and its partners received the 2018 Environmental Protection Agency Environmental Workforce Development and Job Training Grant. With this grant, the City of Tacoma plans to train 54 students and place at least 39 graduates in environmental jobs. 

Street improvements 2013The City first received EPA funding in 2000 then again in 2006, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2016 and 2018. LEAP staff have been involved in EPA-funded environmental job training grants for over 20 years.

 

Grant Partners

Goodwill Olympics & Rainier Region is one of the partners and will be responsible for outreach and recruitment, case management and job assistance. 

 

Clover Park Technical College is another partner and will be responsible for training.
