Prior to any person conducting marijuana business activity in Tacoma a City business license must be issued.  This includes retailing, producing, processing, transporting and any other type of marijuana activity licensed by the Washington State Liquor Cannabis Board (WSLCB).

The City will not issue a business license unless a state marijuana license has been issued by the WSLCB for the business name and location on the application and a valid Certificate of Occupancy has been issued by the City’s Planning and Development Services for the same location.
