Port of Tacoma Road Update - December 9

Port of Tacoma Road Update - December 9

All Lanes Open from Marshall to Ross

The Marshall Avenue intersection is now open and left turns are allowed. All five lanes of Port of Tacoma Road are open from Marshall Avenue to Ross Way, with temporary striping marking the lane boundaries.

Weather Delaying Work at WUT and from Ross to East 11th Street

Heavy rain this week is expected to delay most of the planned construction work on Port of Tacoma Road.

The weather delayed the planned construction work last weekend in front of Washington United Terminals. A new date to complete the grinding and paving work has not been determined.

Construction is expected to begin this week on the east lanes of Port of Tacoma Road between Ross Way and East 11th Street, weather permitting. The closure of the Ross Way intersection has been delayed. It is now expected to close December 15 to accommodate construction on this section of the road.

Construction of the East 11th Street intersection is expected to begin in early January.

Stay Safe Through Construction Zone

Safety is our top priority. The contractor, City, Tacoma Rail and Port continue to work with emergency responders to make sure they have access through the construction zone.

Remember, the speed limit through the construction zone is 30 mph. Obey all traffic laws, watch for traffic revisions and use extra caution when driving through the port industrial area.
