Port of Tacoma Road Update - November 11, 2015

Port of Tacoma Road Update - November 11, 2015

Paving North of WUT, Maxwell Intersection to Remain Closed

The contractor expects to begin work on the center lane of Port of Tacoma Road between Washington United Terminals and Ross Way later this week.

Traffic is expected to move to the two outside lanes Thursday to allow for the grinding and paving work. Watch for traffic revisions.

The intersection of Maxwell Way and Port of Tacoma Road will not partially open this week as planned. The intersection will remain closed to accommodate paving the center lane. A detour route is marked around the construction.

Weekend work on this section of Port of Tacoma Road is planned for November 14, 15, 21 and 22.

All work is weather dependent.

Marshall Avenue Intersection Closure Expected

The intersection of Marshall Avenue and Port of Tacoma Road is expected to close later this month for up to four days over a weekend to allow the contractor to complete grinding and paving work. The intersection may also have limited access and partial closures for up to two weeks. The work is weather dependent.

Stay Safe through Construction Zone

Safety is our top priority. The contractor, City, Tacoma Rail and Port continue to work with emergency responders to make sure they have access through the construction zone.

Remember, the speed limit through the construction zone is 30 mph. Obey all traffic laws, watch for traffic revisions and use extra caution when driving through the port industrial area.
