Port of Tacoma Road Update - September 9 to September 18

Safety is our top priority. The contractor, City, Tacoma Rail and Port are working with emergency responders to make sure they have access through the construction zone.

 

Remember, the speed limit through the construction zone is 30 MPH. Obey all traffic laws and use extra caution when driving through the port industrial area.

 

Lincoln Avenue Intersection Paving to Finish this Week

Lincoln Avenue is expected to remain closed between Thorne Avenue and Port of Tacoma Road this week while contractor crews complete paving work at the intersection. Local access is provided.

 

Traffic is detoured around the closure on Thorne Road to Maxwell Way and then Port of Tacoma Road. 

 

New Driveways at Washington United Terminal, U.S. Oil

The construction of new driveways at Washington United Terminals and U.S. Oil south of WUT will finish this week. The driveways are being built in segments to maintain access to both facilities.

 

Full Road Closure Scheduled for September 18 to 20

All lanes of Port of Tacoma Road are expected to be closed between Marshall and Lincoln Avenues beginning the evening of Friday, September 18, through Sunday, September 20 as crews replace the second rail crossing south of Lincoln Avenue. Local access will be provided.
