City Crews Prepare for More Winter Weather in Tacoma

TACOMA, Wash. – Freezing temperatures and possible snow showers are in the forecast again beginning Thursday, February 13 through Friday, February 14.

City of Tacoma Street Operations crews have deiced citywide in advance of a very uncertain forecast. At this time, the forecast includes a rain/snow mix and warmer temperatures through this evening. Overnight and early Friday morning are anticipated to also include a rain/snow mix and the possibilities of freezing temperatures. Starting at midnight on Friday, three deicing trucks will be deployed to address any unforeseen road conditions or localized snow accumulations of less than ½ inch. Additional snow equipment is readily available as needed.

More information on winter preparedness, including a list of street closures due to weather and the snow routes map, is available at cityoftacoma.org/inclementweather.
