“So You Want to Talk About Race” Author Ijeoma Oluo to Speak at the University of Puget Sound

The City of Tacoma and University of Puget Sound’s Race & Pedagogy Institute will recognize Black History Month with a conversation about how to communicate about and navigate conversations about race lead by author Ijeoma Oluo.

 

The conversation will happen from 6-8 p.m. Feb. 28 at the University of Puget Sound Rotunda of the Wheelock Student Center (1500 N. Warner St.). The event and parking are free and open to the community. The event will also feature a raffle of five of Ms. Oluo’s books.

 

Ijeoma Oluo was named as one of Root’s Most Influential African Americans in 2017, Ms. Oluo has developed a practical primer on how to explore the implications of race in the workplace and in American society and take actions that lead to a more equitable future for all.
