Community Invited to ‘Turning the Tide’ Documentary Premiere September 22
The City of Tacoma's Environmental Services Department invites the community to the free screening premiere of "Turning the Tide," a documentary film that tells the story of the cleanup and revitalization of the Thea Foss Waterway.
The event is taking place at the Pantages Theater at 901 Broadway, on Thursday, September 22, at 7 PM. Doors will open at 6 PM for a reception, and the screening will begin at 7 PM. A panel discussion with the filmmaker and project participants will follow.
The film documents the City’s journey through difficult times and showcases how an innovative response to environmental issues can make good economic sense. Viewers will learn the history of the cleanup and revitalization of the waterway and be inspired to do their part to protect this resource and ecosystem.
Two free screenings will also take place at The Grand Cinema at 606 Fawcett Avenue on Monday, September 26 at 7 PM and Wednesday, September 28 at 7 PM. Free tickets will be available at The Grand Cinema box office.
