City of Tacoma Observes Christmas Day December 25 and New Year's Day January 1

Administrative offices in the Tacoma Municipal Building complex (747 Market St. and 733 Market St.) and in other City of Tacoma facilities will close Tuesday, December 25, in observance of Christmas Day, and Tuesday, January 1, in observance of New Year’s Day. 

The Tacoma Recovery and Transfer Center (3510 S. Mullen St.) will close on Tuesday, December 25 and Tuesday, January 1. There will be no curbside pickups on those days. All curbside collection pickups will be one day later than normally scheduled between Tuesday, December 25 - Saturday, December 29 and Tuesday, January 1 - Saturday, January 6.  Information specific to a customer’s address can be found at tacomarecycles.org/collectioncalendar. 

Police and fire personnel will be on duty as normally scheduled on Tuesday, December 25 and Tuesday, January 1, and animal control personnel will be on duty from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. on each of those days.   

Following is a list of other closures and service adjustments relating to the upcoming holidays:

• Tacoma Public Library locations will close on Saturday, December 22,  Tuesday, December 25 and Tuesday, January 1.  
• The Tacoma Municipal Court (930 Tacoma Ave. S) will close on Tuesday, December 25 and Tuesday, January 1.
• There will be no parking enforcement by City staff on Tuesday, December 25 and Tuesday, January 1.
