Community Encouraged to Share Feedback
on Tacoma Police Chief Finalists Now Through December 11, 2020

Selected Candidate for Police Chief on December 15, 2020--
TACOMA, Wash. – The City of Tacoma is seeking an experienced, transformational leader to serve as its next Chief of Police for the Tacoma Police Department.
A recording of the Monday, December 7, 2020 Meet the Police Chief Finalists community event is available here. Additionally, a recording of the Q&A With the City Council on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 will be posted soon at cityoftacoma.legistar.com.
Community members are encouraged to share their feedback now through 5 PM on Friday, December 11, 2020 using the individual links set up for each of the finalists at cityoftacoma.org/policechiefrecruitment. They may also submit feedback by contacting Shelby Fritz at sfritz@cityoftacoma.org or (253) 328-1306.
The Wednesday, December 9, 2020 City Council Executive Session to discuss the qualifications of the finalists has been rescheduled to Monday, December 14, 2020 at 9:30 AM to ensure there is adequate time to review and consider all of the feedback received.
The Tuesday, December 15, 2020 City Council Meeting will include consideration by the City Council to conditionally confirm – subject to completion of the City's background check process – the selected candidate for Police Chief.
The Chief of Police is responsible for the oversight and administrative management of the department’s daily operations and for achieving the department’s mission, vision and strategic objectives in alignment with the vision, goals and priorities of the City Council and the community.
