Project Updates on Lincoln District Streetscape Provided at Open House on August 30

The City of Tacoma is hosting an open house to give the community updates on the Lincoln District Streetscape Project. The event is taking place on Wednesday, August 30, from 4 - 6 PM. at the Lincoln Project Office (750 S. 38th St.).

Community members are invited to provide input on the latest streetscape designs for Yakima Avenue between South 37th and South 38th streets. This open house gives an opportunity for the community to look at proposed design ideas and give feedback regarding the Yakima Festival Street. Key features include a decorative concrete roadway, landscaping, artwork, lighting, and new sidewalk and street furnishings.

Streetscape work has begun on South G Street and work is expected to begin along South 38th Street, from South J Street to Fawcett Avenue in September 2017. This work is estimated to run through June 2018.
