Tacoma Mayor Victoria Woodards to Deliver
State of the City Address on March 4 Using an Alternate Format

TACOMA, Wash. – Out of an abundance of caution, as well as concerns expressed by the community, the 2020 State of the City Address is moving to an alternate format.

“Although there are currently no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Pierce County, the health and safety of our community is our top priority,” said Tacoma Mayor Victoria Woodards. “That’s why I’ve decided to embrace a virtual format this year for the State of the City that is consistent with one of the suggested preventative measures being used by City administration. I hope you’ll join me when it airs at 6:30 p.m. on TV Tacoma or on social media.”

Mayor Woodards' remarks can be viewed on TV Tacoma, or streamed on tvtacoma.com and on Facebook Live at facebook.com/cityoftacoma. Community members are also encouraged to host watch parties and tag themselves using #SOTC253.

Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department has not recommended canceling public gatherings, keeping people home from work or closing schools, and the City continues to operate under normal conditions.

TV Tacoma can be viewed on both the Click! and Comcast Cable systems.
