Tacoma’s Parking Services Resuming on July 6
-- Touchless Payment Options Available Through New Mobile Parking App--
Now that Pierce County is in Phase 2 of Washington’s Safe Start recovery plan, the City of Tacoma will resume services for the on-street parking system starting Monday, July 6.
On this date, the on-street pay station system, as well as timed regulation monitoring, will resume throughout the city. On-street parking will once again require payment where meters are present, and all timed signage will begin to be monitored by the City’s Parking Services.
On this same date, the City will introduce a touchless parking payment option with the launch of a new mobile parking app. The Flowbird App allows users to pay for parking, under posted time limits, with an iOS or Android device. The app can be used for both on-street paid parking, as well as at City-owned off-street parking lots and garages.
The current Temporary ADA Parking and Temporary Short Term Loading Zones programs will continue throughout Phase 2 and beyond through a period of economic recovery.
