The City of Tacoma Invites Community to Provide Comment About Housing Policy

The City of Tacoma is evaluating policies and considering innovative solutions to diversify housing options and increase affordable housing throughout Tacoma to address the growing need for housing. Regional growth has caused a rise in housing costs, creating affordability barriers for people with moderate to low incomes.

Through 2020, Tacoma’s Planning Commission is asking the community to join in a discussion about housing needs, development trends, zoning and neighborhood change. The Commission will hold a Public Scoping Hearing at 5:30 p.m. February 19 in the City Council Chambers (747 Market Street, First Floor).

The Planning Commission is accepting written public comment now through February 29 by email to planning@cityoftacoma.org or by mail to 747 Market Street, First Floor, Tacoma, WA 98402.
